Svetlana Shilova

Born in Zaporozhye. Studied at the conducting-choral and theoretical departments of the Voroshilovgrad School of Music. In 1997 graduated from the vocal faculty of the St Petersburg State Conservatoire (class of Konstantin Pluzhnikov). As a student, worked at the Chamber Music Theatre St Petersburg Opera.

In 1998—02 was a soloist at the State Opera and Ballet Theatre of the St Petersburg Conservatoire.

Since 2002 has been a soloist at the Bolshoi Theatre. Debuted as Marfa (Khovanshchina).

Performed at Opera national de Lyon, the Bonn State Opera, Theater an der Wien, the Mariinsky Theatre, the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and the Concert Hall Zaryadye in Moscow. Participated in several festivals, such as Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, the festivals in Quebec, Trancoso (Brazil), the Festival of Contemporary Art Territory, the International Chaliapin Festival in Kazan, Irina Arkhipova presents…, December evenings, Three centuries of Russian romance, Winter Tarusa (the festival of S.T. Richter Foundation) and many more.

Participated in concert programmes at the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Moscow, the museum Tsaritsyno Palace, in the cultural programme of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2018 FIFA World Cup in Moscow.
