In 2001, she was awarded the gold medal and the Irina Arkhipova Foundation prize for outstanding achievements in the performing arts in the last decade of the 20th century.

She completed her studies at the faculty of music theatre of The State Institute of the Performing Arts (GITIS — today the Russian Academy of the Performing Arts), in Vladislav Pyavko’s class.
From 1986-88, she was a probationer at the Bolshoi Theatre Opera Company.
Today she appears at the Bolshoi Theatre as guest soloist.

Her international career took off, in 1989, at the International Opera Festival in Romania, at which she sang the title role in Norma. She has toured in England, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Portugal, Yugoslavia, Norway, Switzerland, Mexico, Uruguay and other countries. She has sung at the Berlin State Opera and at opera houses in Spain, Italy, France and Belgium. She has appeared several times in solo concerts at London’s Albert Hall. She has taken part in many international music festivals.
