Майкл Киган-Долан


Born in Ireland in 1969, he trained at the Central School of Ballet. He founded Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre in 1997 and was artistic director until 2014. In 2001 he began studying Japanese Sword with John Evans and yoga with Shandor Remete. He was an associate artist at the Barbican Centre, London from 2006 to 2010 and became an associate artist at Sadler’s Wells in 2011. He was artist in residence at the New Zealand Festival, 2019. Recent work includes MÁM, which was nominated for and Olivier award and a UK National Dance Award 2020. Swan Lake/Loch na hEala (Irish Times Theatre Award, Best Production 2017 and the UK National Dance Award, Best Production 2018), Antonín (Gärtnerplatz Theatre, Munich), The Big Noise (GöteborgsOperans Danskompani). For The Royal Opera he has choreographed The Rake’s Progress, Faust and Macbeth. Other opera choreography includes Julius Caesar (also director), Ariodante, Manon and Alcina (ENO).
