Biography

Keso Dekker (1946), having studied literature and arthistory, began his multiple career as a painter, and as an author and designer of spaces, publications and exhibitions, always on the historical subjects of design, fashion, art and dance. On stage, since 1976, he has created set-and costume designs for over 500 productions, mainly in ballet and dance, for a large number of companies, directors and choreographers worldwide, such as Nils Christe, Heinz Spoerli, Martin Schlaepfer and Alexei Ratmansky.

Throughout, his most essential collaboration has been with Hans van Manen, whose entire body of work since 1978 was provided with set-and costume design by mr Dekker, adding up to some 60 creations. Over the past years, he was a recipient of multiple awards, for his achievements in design, and his contribution to the world of ballet and dance in general.
