In the UK-Russia Year of Culture 2014, when our theatres and even movie theatres are showcasing the best productions of leading English Companies, it is natural that London’s Royal Ballet should put in an appearance at the Bolshoi Theatre.
On the Bolshoi Theatre Main Stage the Royal Ballet will present a programme of one-act ballets (17 & 18 June) and one full-length ballet Manon (20 June, 2l June [at 1 and 7 p.m.], and 22 June).

As per tradition, the Bolshoi Ballet Company will be performing at the Opera House of Washington’s John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The Bolshoi’s Opera Company is to give two concert performances at the Theater an der Wien on 28th (The Tsar’s Bride) and 29th (The Golden Cockerel) April.

The Bolshoi Opera is to go on tour to Israel for the first time

The Bolshoi Ballet Company’s last visit to Australia was in 1994. It is now to appear with a full scale tour in Brisbane where it is awaited with growing impatience. All the performances will be at one venue QPAC’s (Queensland Performing Arts Centre) Lyric Theatre. Brisbane, the capital of the state of Queensland, is one of Australia’s major cities. The organizers are very proud of the ‘exclusive’ nature of this one-off tour and expect up to 24.000 to attend. “It is a huge coup for Brisbane, anybody who has the slightest interest in ballet and its history will be heading to Brisbane”, they say.
