La Fille du Pharaon hasn't stepped foot on the Bolshoi’s stage for six years, but remains embedded in our minds. It goes without saying that on the 200th anniversary of ever-living Marius Petipa we can’t help but wake up the famous mummy.

A Play for Him is the benefit of the Bolshoi Ballet’s wonderful male dancers, who are quite unique in their own way. Principal dancer Vyacheslav Lopatin, leading soloists Denis Savin, Igor Tsvirko and artist Vladislav Kozlov will seize a rare opportunity to stay in the spotlight and represent a collective image of a modern male ballet dancer.

NB! The program for A Play for Him

A Beauty with enameled eyes is back with us again!

In the year of Marius Petipa (March 11 marked the 200th anniversary of his birth) after a four and a half-year nap, Coppelia returned to the repertoire of the Bolshoi Theatre, a true masterpiece brilliantly choreographed by Petipa to the gorgeous music by Leo Delibes. Although the libretto is based on the well-known dark short story by Hoffman, in fact, this ballet is one of the most fun in the entire classical heritage.

Unfortunately, the life of Sergei Vikharev – the author of the new version of the Mariinsky theatre production of 1894, which was shown at the Bolshoi in 2009 – was cut short by an unhappy coincidence, so he could not take part in the revival of his performance. The Bolshoi ballet pays tribute to a colleague – a wonderful choreographer, teacher and a true Master.

NB! The cast for the first run of the shows (which will be held on the New Stage 20, 21 (beginning at 12 and 19 hours) and 22 April) is announced.

Nutcracker Is Coming – Both on the Screen and at the Theatre!
This choreographic version, created for the Bolshoi by Yuri Grigorovich, is full of romanticism and philosophical reflections on ideal love. Masterfully interpreted by our dancers, it will enchant the whole family for the festive season, proving that one is never too young or too old to be swept away by The Nutcracker. Cinema: from December 17; Theatre: from December 23.
