Nutcracker Is Coming – Both on the Screen and at the Theatre!
This choreographic version, created for the Bolshoi by Yuri Grigorovich, is full of romanticism and philosophical reflections on ideal love. Masterfully interpreted by our dancers, it will enchant the whole family for the festive season, proving that one is never too young or too old to be swept away by The Nutcracker. Cinema: from December 17; Theatre: from December 23.

The Australian Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, The Royal Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada and San Francisco Ballet will collaborate for the fourth year in a row to broadcast 22 hours of behind-the-scenes footage on 5 October. The stream of World Ballet Day LIVE will be shown via Facebook LIVE.

«Дива из Большого»
An outstanding singer, regal and beautiful opera diva, she performs on the Bolshoi’s stage for more than half a century! The Gala concert devoted to Makvala Kasrashvili will be held in honor of the singer's jubilee - in her honor will sing her friends, students and colleagues.

For the first time young opera stars – Russian soprano Olga Peretyatko (Violetta) and American tenor Stephen Costello (Alfredo) - will perform at the Bolshoi. They are engaged in the performances that will be held on 10, 12 and 14 May. On May 9, 11 and 13, Alfredo's role will be performed by a leading soloist of the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet Liparit Avetisyan.

The Bolshoi Theatre presents the performances of the International Opera Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, which is considered to be one of the leading European opera forums. For several evenings, the most significant productions of the recent years will be shown at the Bolshoi - an opera by English composer George Benjamin Written on skin (2012) and Trauernacht, a stage performance of J.S. Bach cantatas (2014). Both performances are staged by the leading British director at work today Katie Mitchell.

Первый среди равных
For nearly four years the sounds of the new pipe organ have been bringing joy to its audience in concerts and performances on the historic stage of the Bolshoi. The coming Evening of organ music promises to be both engaging and versatile: the stage will unify the organists of different lands – Russia, France, the Vatican.

The International Forum Mieczyslaw Weinberg (1919-1996).
The Return. In honor of the 100th anniversary of the composer will be held on 16 – 19 of February at the Bolshoi Theatre and the Russian State Institute of Art.

Ave Майя
Whatever she thought up, however many remarkable artists she managed to gather round her, the main treat of every Maya Plisetskaya Gala Evening was always Maya Plisetskaya herself in person. Her look, walk, dance, hint at dancing, the way she took a curtain call, the light flowing from her eyes, her formidable energy fueled by the rapturous reception she aroused in the auditorium – this was what was important and riveted the audience’s attention…

The Great Conductors at the Bolshoi cycle of concerts on the Theatre’s Main Stage continues with a performance by the Bolshoi Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Maestro Rozhdestvensky. The program consists of works by Czech composers.

The Bolshoi Young artists opera program created in 2009 collaborates successfully with similar foreign projects. This time The Bolshoi audience will meet a real “golden collection” of young opera singers, who will represent 6 youth opera centers.

In a Jewel of a Role
For the first time since she left the Company, Natalia Osipova is to appear in a Bolshoi Theatre production. She will dance the title role in Giselle (Yuri Grigorovich production). When, a month ago, the winners of the English Critics Circle National Dance Awards were announced, Osipova carried off prizes in two nominations: Best Dancer in 2014 and Outstanding Female Performance (for her interpretation of the role of Giselle in the Royal Ballet production). Her Albrecht at the Bolshoi will be Royal Ballet Principal Stephen McRae.

World ballet stars have nobly agreed to appear in a charity Gala Concert, to be held at the Bolshoi Theatre on 7 December 2014, in support of the Kiev School of Choreography, the School building being urgently in need of renovation. The idea comes from Bolshoi Theatre Prima Ballerina Svetlana Zakharova, who began her ballet education within the walls of the School.

The Bolshoi suggests taking the third journey (November 6 & 7) into the age of the baroque with the unique French ensemble Les Arts Florissants — a trailblazer in the sphere of authentic performance.

La Traviata. Guest atrists
