
Biography
Born in Palanga (Lithuania). In 2002, graduated from Art Academy in Vilnius.
From 1998, he works together with Eimuntas Nekrosuis as set designer.
Among other, he designed the production of Macbeth by Shakespeare at Meno Fortas Theatre in Vilnius and in Palermo (1999), which was awarded by Prize UBU as the best foreign production shown
in Italy and by The Golden Mask National Theatre Prize (Russia).
Than he designed The Seagull by Chekhov (Udino, 2000), The Europeans by Barker (Vilnius, 2002), Ivanov by Chekhov (Rome, 2002), The Seasons by Donelaitis (Vilnius,
2003), The Cherry Orchard by Chekhov (Moscow, 2003), The Song of Songs (Vilnius, 2005), Goethe’s Faust (Vilnius, 2006), Anna Karenina after Tolstoy (Modena,
2008).
He also designed Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov at Teatro Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (2005), and Wagner’s Die Walkure at the Lithuanian National Opera (2007).
He designed the Bolshoi Theatre productions of Macbeth (2003), Desyatnikov’s The Children of Rosenthal (2005) and Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh
and the Maiden Fevronia (2008).
In 2005, Marius Nekrosius recieved the Lithuanian theatre critics premium for the best scenography of the season (for The Song of Songs directed by E. Nekrosius).
