Biography

Born in Amsterdam, Holland. Lived in South Africa and New Zealand when she was young. At the age of 16 she won the RAD scholarship from New Zealand to study at the Royal Ballet School in London. She completed her dance schooling at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag.

In 1986 started her dance career with the Netherlands Dance Theater 2. She continued dancing in the main company for 13 years. During the time with NDT, she created and worked with many great choreographers: Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Edouard Lock, Hans van Manen, among others.

In 1993, she received the Aanmoedigings Prijs , from the Dansers Fonds, Holland. Then she joined Ballet Frankfurt, to work for William Forsythe for two years.

During her career she has created many pieces of her own: Tresspass, Mizu, Under my fee, and her most recent work Exposed, for C-SCOPE.

The last two years she worked as a rehearser for Netherlands Dance Theater main company, assisting choregraphers like Jacopo Godani, Crystal Pite, Meryl Tankard and Jiri Kylian. She has also helped set a few works from William Forsythe & Kylian internationally.

Presently, she is also working as a freelance dancer/choreographer in her own established projects by C-SCOPE which she has set up together with her husband and professional dance photographer, Joris-Jan Bos. During summer holidays she organizes and participates in the Biarteca Festival, in Rosazza, Italy. The festival invites artist from different backgrounds to perform and bring life to that picturesque mountain village.
