Biography
Born in Marseilles, Cecile Giovansili has got linguistic education and has studied light designing by herself. At first she worked with drama and opera theatres, and later she took a great interest in dance. Over more than fifteen years she works both for small companies and for such celebrities as Peter Brook, Klaus Michael Gruber, Hans Peter Cloos, Patrice Caurier, Moshe Leiser, Issey Miyake, Stephane Braunschweig, Angelin Preljocaj. She collaborates with Preljocaj Ballet from 2001, and she has worked as a light designer on a lot of productions with Patrick Riu and Angelin Preljocaj. Among her latest works there are Eldorado, Snow White, Le Funambule by Preljocaj and lighting in Gallery, for an Anachronistic History of Painting from XVth to XIXth century project for La Locomotive company.
