Biography

After training at the Berlin State Ballet School, she joined the Komische Oper Company where, in 1992, she became soloist. Having won the International Competition for Ballet Dancers, Jackson (1994), she was invited to join Bavarian State Ballet where she danced from 1996 to 2005. For her interpretation of Giselle in Mats Ek’s production, she was voted dancer of the year by the German press.

At the same time as dancing, she started to work as teacher, gradually switching to the career of choreographer. From 2003-06, she was resident choreographer with Bavarian Opera, at the same time as working with other companies as guest choreographer. These companies include: Vienna Opera, The Royal Opera (London), Teatro Real (Madrid), Grand Theatre de Geneve, Zurich Opera; the Ruhr Triennale, the Bregenz Festival, the Salzburg Festival; she has also worked on productions in Cologne and San Francisco.

She has collaborated with the following, among other, outstanding directors: David Pountney, David Alden, Doris Dorrie, Karoline Gruber, Richard Jones, Christof Loy, Peter Mussbach.

Since 2006, she has been freelancing as choreographer and dancer. She teaches stage dance at the Richard Strauss Conservatoire (Munich).
