In 1994, she won the Grand prix at two international singing competitions — the Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov Competition in Saint Petersburg and the Francisco Vinas Competition, in Barcelona.
In 1995, she was named by the BBC as one of the five best young opera singers in the world.

Biography
Born in the city of Sverdlovsk (today Yekaterinburg). In 1992, she completed her studies at the Moscow State Pyotr Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Irina Maslennikova’s class). In 1992, she was a probationer at the Bolshoi Theatre (during her probationary period she sang the part of Rosina in Gioachino Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia 11 times). In 1993, she was promoted to soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre Opera Company.Repertoire
