Maria Gorelova

Biography

Born in 1978 in Taganrog (Rostov region). In 1999 she had finished the Academic Musical College of the Moscow Conservatoire as a pianist. In 1999-2001 she had been studying piano at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. In 2002 Maria has entered the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatoire as a vocalist (Bela Rudenko’s class) and in 2007 she has graduated from it with first class honours. In 2010 Maria has completed her post-graduate course at the Conservatoire.
Maria Gorelova is an active concert performer, she collaborates with Irina Arkhipova’s Foundation and Russian musical foundations such as Russian Chamber Music: From Glinka to Sviridov, Opera: New Generation and others. In 2010 she has won the 2d Prize at the Vincenzo Bellini International Singing Competition (Caltanisetta, Italy).
Maria Gorelova takes part in international music festivals and charity programs. In 2004 she toured to Netherlands with a solo program. She has collaborated with conductors Kent Nagano, Nikolai Nekrasov, Mihail Pletnev, Sergei Politikov, Alexander Sladkovsky, Ilmar Lapins.

In 2012, she made her debut at the Bolshoi Theatre, singing the role of Nastasya (The Enchantress).
