Recipient of the Casta Diva Russian opera prize for his interpretation of Herman in The Queen of Spades (1999).

Biography

Born in Rubtsovsk, Russia.
In 1984, he graduated from the Novosibirsk Conservatoire.
From 1980-88, he was a soloist with the Novosibirsk Theatre of Operetta, from 1988-89, — soloist with the Novosibirsk Theatre of Opera and Ballet and subsequently with the Saint-Petersburg Chamber Opera Company.
Since 1990, he has been a Mariinsky Theatre soloist.

He appeared as guest soloist at the Netherlands Opera, at the Royal Opera House, at the Paris National Opera, at the Metropolitan Opera, as well as at theatres in Vienna, Florence, Milan, Madrid, Amsterdam, Dresden, Stuttgart, Cologne, Liege, Brussels and Chicago.
Vladimir Galuzin is a frequent guest at international festivals in Bregenz (Germany), Edinburgh (Scotland), Salzburg (Austria), Verona (Italy) and Orange (France).

In 2008 he performed the role of Herman (The Queen of Spades) at the Bolshoi Theatre.

He has CD and DVD recordings.
