In 2002 he was awarded the title Merited Artist of Russia.

Biography

He completed his training at the Moscow Academic College of Choreography (Alexei Zakalinsky’s class) and the Moscow State Institute of Choreography. He joined the Bolshoi Ballet Company in 1988.
He rehearsed with Viktor Barykin.
In 1992 he graduated from the performance faculty (teacher Alexander Prokofiev) of the Moscow State Institute of Choreography (today Ballet College and Institute have combined into the Moscow State Academy of Choreography).
In 2002 he graduated from the Financial Management faculty of the State University of Management.
From 2007-2011 he was chairman of the Bolshoi Theatre Union of Veterans.

In 2002 he took part in the International Ballet Festival at Cheboksary, dancing Rothbart in Swan Lake.
In 2006 he performed the same role (Swan Lake R. Samorukov production) with the Ballet Company of the Tatar Academic State Theatre of Opera and ballet named after Musa Jalil (Kazan) as part of the International Rudolf Nureyev Festival of Ballet.
In 2007 he appeared in the ballet Tumbling Old Women to music by L. Desyatnikov (choreography Alexei Ratmansky), presented first at the Territory Festival, and then under the auspices of the Studio of New Choreography.
