Performers born between 1994 and 2004 with a higher (completed or incomplete) specialised musical education are allowed to participate in competitive auditions in the programme.
Acceptance of applications for participation in the competition began on the 29th of March 2024 on the website www.bolshoi.ru. The application is made in the form of a QUESTIONNAIRE, which must be filled out and sent to the organiser.
Acceptance of applications (forms) ends THREE calendar days before the audition date in each city, the deadline for submitting applications for auditions in Moscow is FIVE calendar days.
All expenses related to participation in auditions (travel, accommodation, etc.) are borne by the contestants themselves.

ROUND 1:
• Audition in Nizhny Novgorod, the Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatory — the 6th of April 2024 (The last day for accepting applications — the 2nd of April)
• Audition in Yekaterinburg, the Ural State Conservatory— the 17th of April 2024 (The last day for accepting applications — the 13th of April)
• Audition in St Petersburg, the Elena Obraztsova Cultural Centre — the 22nd and 23rd of April 2024 (The last day for accepting applications — the 18th of April)
• Audition in Tbilisi, the Tbilisi State Conservatory — 12 мая 2024 (The last day for accepting applications – the 8th of May)
• Auditions in Yerevan, Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory — the 14th of May 2024 (The last day for accepting applications — the 10th of May)
• Auditions in Moscow, The Bolshoi Theatre — the 18th, 19th, 20th of May 2024 (The last day for accepting applications — the 12th of May)
• Auditions in Novosibirsk, the Novosibirsk State Conservatory — the 22nd of May 2024 (The last day for accepting applications — the 18th of May)
Participants come to the audition with their own accompanist, having first filled out an electronic form on the website. In Moscow, for non-resident participants, upon prior request, the theatre provides an accompanist.
At each stage of the auditions, the participant must present several arias to the commission - the first at the request of the singer, the rest — at the choice of the commission from the repertoire list provided by the contestant earlier in the application form and including five prepared arias.
The repertoire list should include:
aria from an opera by a Russian composer in Russian.
two arias from foreign repertoire in two different languages (Italian/German/French/Czech).
two arias of the participant’s choice (we recommend including arias from operas by Handel/Mozart/European composers of the Baroque era).
All arias listed must be performed in their original language. The commission reserves the right to listen to fewer or more arias.
The number of participants in Round 1 is not limited.
ROUND 2:
Auditions in Moscow, on the New Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre — the 20th and 21st of June 2024*
ROUND 3:
1. Auditions in Moscow, on the New Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre — the 22nd of June 2024*
Participants must present to the commission one or two arias according to the preliminary selection of the commission (based on the results of Round 2) from their repertoire list. The Commission reserves the right to request fewer or more arias.
2. The final stage includes a lesson-interview with programme leaders.
